Today I experienced a really interesting situation. I was driving and listening to music that puts me in the mood to write. I could hear my characters having a conversation in my head. (They do this pretty frequently.) I was on my way to a meeting so I had a pad and pen handy, but the lights just wouldn’t turn red for me. I simply had to stop and write it all down. So I pulled over into a parking space and wrote a whole page of legal pad paper with the entire conversation.

You should get a tape recorder and you can record ideas or even character conversations while driving. I used to do that while I was commuting from Palm Beach to Miami
